Trinity Church

Trinity is sending an Adult/Youth mission group once again to work alongside the LaRoca Team in Tijuana Mexico.  We have been working with La Roca for over 20 years, and across this time we have seen God do great and amazing things for the suffering people of Tijuana.   Our efforts will make a true difference in the lives’ of the people we encounter, and we’ll experience the transforming power of the Gospel in the midst of extreme poverty and hopelessness. This will be an emotionally intense and life changing experience, as we will be 'bearers of hope' and help to the tragic reality of third world poverty.
Interest is already great for this years trip, so if you are interested in being part of the team, PLEASE FILL OUT THE APPLICATION FORM BELOW! All applications MUST be filled out by Monday, June 3rd. This trip has a limited number of spots, and we believe it will fill quickly.
We will DEPART Trinity Church at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, July 11th.
We will RETURN to Trinity Church late afternoon of Sunday, July 17th.
There will be an INFORMATIONAL TRIP MEETING after the Edwards service on Sunday, May 15th at 12:30pm. Quick Lunch option avaliable. Please RSVP to our church office  ( if you plan to attend.   Attendance at this meeting is not necessary but recommended.
Trip Leadership: This years trip will be led by Pastor Ethan and Pastor Nikki.  We believe we will have multiple team members who have been on previous trips.
Anticapted work/ministry projects:  Dump ministry, prepare and serve meals at the downtown shelter,  work at the "House of Grace" orphanage, contruction work at the "Ranch" and at the Dump.  As is always the case, we may change or add to these projects depending upon the ministry need.
Trip Finances:  The anticipated ALL IN cost of the trip is $475.00
Depending on the number of participants, this cost may decrease, but it is not expected to rise.
  • $400 "hard cost" paid to Trinity Church.
  • Personal funds for 5 road meals ($40-$50)
  • Personal spending money (not necessary, but we recommend $30-$40)
Travel:  We will be driving in two 15-Passenger vans.  The total drive time is about 15 hours each way.  We will spend the night in Barstow, CA (going, August 30th), and Mesquite NV (returning, Saturday 4th).
Who may participate
  • This trip is for adults and high school aged students.  This trip is physically, emotionally, and spiritually rigourous.  High school students are NOT required to have a parent participating, but they will be required to have signed and notarized permission forms from both parents/guardians.
  • High school students (whether or not accompanied by a parent) will need to demonstrate a high degree of maturity, personal responsibility, and respect for authority to participate. This is a wonderful experience for older youth, but it is also a physically and emotionally intense trip, and may not be appropriate for some high-schoolers.
  • Everything we will do on this trip is centered on Christ, and our desire to bring Glory to God through our work.  Each evening will have a time of debrief, devotion, and prayer.  As such, a growing personal faith in Christ is important!  If you are not a Christian but wish to participate, you will need to discuss this directly with Pastor Ethan.
  • Preference will be given to active members of Trinity Church.  That said, we almost always have particpants from other churches.
  • Maximum trip size is 20 people.
Team Environment
An absolutely essential part of this mission trip is the team environment and dynamic.  We will be in close quarters a LOT of the time, including over 30 hours in a van!  Patience, kindness, respect, and an eagerness to help out are essential attributes for this trip.  We will all particpate in preparing meals, cleaning up, working in the ministry settings, and participating in prayer and devotional times.
Required documentation: US Passport.  All participants MUST have a passport. In years past we have only required that students have a birth certificate and drivers license, however, this year we DO require that even students have their passports.
Application process
  • Fill out and submit the application form below!
  • As soon as your application is recieved, it will be reviewed by Pastor's Ethan and Matt.  We will then follow up with you to confirm your spot on the team.  At that point, a deposit check for $50 will be required to secure your spot.
  • We will have at least one pre-trip team meeting in July

Note!  If you have more than one family member applying, please fill out and submit this form separately for each person.
If under 18 (minor)
All Applicants
Have you participated in an 'out of country' mission trip?
This trip is a TEAM experience that requires openness and constant interaction. As a team member you are expected to fully participate in all activities and discussions. "Sitting out" a day or activity is logistically not an option! We will ALL be a witness to the Gospel by how we behave - for the entire duration of the trip.
